What is Banqer, Banqer is a fun app for children to use and learn things like Kiwi saver so that when they go to high school to learn about it they would have a bit of knowledge.
And when you finish school and move on to the big world you have the idea what your Kiwi saver is and what income is.
Banqer in my option is a great app to learn about money saving and job finding you even have to write a CV about what you are good at what you would like to do for your job and see if the job would fit you and you have to get interviewed at our school to see if you are worthy enough for the job that you would like.
I was a pupil at St Francis of Assisi School and this blog is where I shared my learning. This blog has been archived, no further content will be uploaded or added. You are welcome to continue viewing posts, however commenting has been disabled.

Biography about Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking was born on the 8th of January 1942 in Oxford, England.
His family moved to Oxford from London to escape the v2 rockets flying over
London. He had three siblings Lucy Hawking,Robert Hawking and Timothy
Hawking. He lived from 1942-2018, he died at the age of 76. Sadly, when
Stephen was 21 years of age he was diagnosed with motor neuron disease and
he was told he only had 2 years to live. His disease affects the brain cells that
communicate with the muscles overtime he suffers to walk, talk and he even needed
help to swallow. Stephen Hawking was one of the smartest scientists in the world.

Work
His scientific works included a collaboration with Roger Penrose
on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and the
theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation.

Beyond the horizon(2005)
Professor Stephen Hawking worked on the basic laws which govern the universe.
With Roger Penrose he showed that Einstein's general theory of relativity implied
space and time would have a beginning in the Big Bang and an end in black holes
(1970).

Quotes
Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.
Life would be tragic if it weren't funny.
I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that
we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.

buy them before they sell out or spin out
This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question was; How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?
First we learned what STEAM stood for.
S for Science
T for Technology
E for Engineering
A for the Arts
and M for Maths
Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks.
Then; make a table that was able to balance M&Ms for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because …our table was better because the chair wasn’t stable.
In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.
Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.
How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.
My team made this…
Reflection
My highlight from this PBL was…
Next time I would…make different colours on the spinners...

PBL Performance
This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about cultural stories and the big question was;
What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?
First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas. Culture is Where you come from, and what you do to celebrate
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and
heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read Maui and the sun
We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

Reflection:
For our production I contributed by...Doing the battle dances
I think the show might impact on others by...Telling them about the myth of the battle of the mountains.
What I learned about working with others was...It was fun.

Follow up
In reading this week we have been making raps, drawings and articles about the Maori culture and how to stop it fading away I made a poster on google drawings.
The reason why to go to the Marae because it is one of the things that are Important in the Maori culture.
And I chose to do a poster because we could promote more people to think about the Maori culture
