Tough kids

This week we have been given the opportunity to do an obstacle course called Tough kids and that is basically just a fun run were there is Mud crawl and there is lots of others and they were really fun and we got very wet because the firemen sprayed us with there hoses and there was a little lake thing and we dived into the water we all thought it would be cold but it was pretty warm and it wasn't that cold to jump in so most of us jumped into the water we all had fun at the mud run. At the changing rooms there was such little space for heaps of people so we had to make it work. At the end of the run there was some apples for the runners.

Sport

This term we have been doing a sport rotation and the sports we got to do were Softball, Cricket, Lawn bowls and Korfball and it was a fun experience doing all of the fun activities. We all had to do all of the fun sports. We got to do thursday after lunch and we all have really enjoyed doing all of the sports and we hope to do them again. My favorite sport was korfball because I love playing basketball it is basically like basketball and netball combined into one.

Today I am going to be showing you one of Reading create task here it is.




What are the positives to this method?

Underwater camera
It is good to use because you can see all sea life and you could investigate what the species are.

It would also be good to be able to have eyes in the water so that they see any new life under the water that they can not see.
Some type of plant grows in front of the camera and they lose all vision on the sea life and they can not investigate any of the species.

They could face a challenge when they see no life or nothing and they get confused on why they can’t see anything.

They could find some very good photos and data from what fish/Species they are.

They could find some new fish and species and they could also find some new plants.
They could scare away all of the sea life by just going near them.

It could scarel the fish away from the camera and they can’t analyse any of the sea life.

This way could be good to get a fish examine it and then they put it back in the water and let it be free and take it back and they examine it and identify what species.

Attitude presantaion

Hello this term we have been listening to a presentation that is based on Puberty and the person that was taking us was a guy called Rory and he wasn't afraid or nervous to talk to us about this topic and talk to us about what happens in the Puberty Part of age and he taught us things that happen in Puberty and the effects that has on us like weight, Hair, Voice and growth. He got us to stand up and he would ask a question and it would be based on a boy, Girl and both and if the question was going towards the boys you would go to the boys side and if it was towards both you would go to the middle of the room. Then after the questions we were told to write some questions on a piece of paper and you get them answered by Rory and he gives his honest opinion on the topic.

Create task

hello this week we have been making a create task and ours was about a book called Under the Sea and it was about all these methods of seeing and hearing sea creatures.



What are the positives to this method? 
What challenges might they face?
Does the author recommend this method? How do you know?

On October 2nd it was my birthday and I got heaps of birthday money T-shirts, Shorts, Socks and lots of other stuff and we went to Zone 67 and that is a war zone and there was gels getting fired everywhere.

Camp reflection

This week we have got the opportunity to go to wainui camp and then we go to do activities but first we had to do a tramp to go to the camp and that was a 6k walk and we had to do 1 activity that day and there was so many activities to do and there it was good to get away from school work.

Recipe

Hello this term we have been writing recipes and you you had to get given a country out of hat and then we had to make a recipe and then make that food and then bring it to school and I have made Zeppole and here is the recipe to make it.
Zeppole
  • 2/4 of vege oil
  • 1 cup of Flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 dash of salt
  • 1 & ½ teaspoons of white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 
  • ½ cup of sugar.
  • Cook for 35 mins
  • Prepare it for 45 mins

It should take about 80 mins

Reading

Hello this week we have been doing reading in our workshops and we have timetable when we want to go to workshops and you have to task completions and 1 fitness we have to go to that workshop or else we will miss it and reading is cool because we get to learn new things.

Instructions

This term we have been writing instructions on a sport that is played in the country we were given and I was given Italy and I chose a not so popular sport in Italy which was basketball and that I name the rules of basketball and how to play and here are those instructions.
Title:Basketball that is being played in Italy

Background info:I know the rules of Basketball, You need a hoop for the sport.

Equipment:Hoop and Net, Basketball, 

Rules/steps to play, Don’t dribble and then pick up the ball and dribble again, Don’t run with the ball, Don’t jump with the ball in your hands, Don’t go out of bounds with the ball.

Basketball for Italy
  • Basketball to play with
  • Hoop to shoot with
  • Rim for the hoop
  • If you want you can get paint for the ground to see how far you are shooting from. Free throw, Key, Paint, 3pt, Half Court.
  • Backboard so you can bank it in or layup of the backboard.
  • Shoes incase there is rocks.
  • Get a good form on your shot
  • Try dribble from hand to hand
  • Rules/Well you are dribbling don’t pick it up and then dribble it because that will be double dribble.
  • When you get the ball passed to you from the inbound, you have to go over the half court line in less than 8 seconds or else that will cause an 8 second violation.
  • When you dribble the ball over the halfway line, you are not allowed to go back into your side that you are defending or else you will get given a backcourt violation.
  • When you get passed the ball, you are not allowed to run or walk with the ball unless you are dribbling or else you will have a turnover and a travelling violation.
  • When you are in the paint, you are only allowed to stay in there for 3 seconds on offense but if you stay in the paint for longer, you will get a 3 second violation.
  • If you’re on defense, you are not allowed to stay in the paint for longer than 5 seconds or else you will be given a 5 second violation which gives the opponents team a free throw and the ball. 
  • You should not foul unless you are told to because that gives the opponents team 2 or 3 free throws.
  • You should never talk back or argue with the referee because they have the right to give you a technical foul which means that the other team has 2 free throws and the ball. If you get 2 technical fouls, you are ejected from the game. You can also be thrown out of the game.
  • There is a 24 second shot clock violation which means that your team only has the ball for 24 seconds and if you don’t shoot it by then, it is a turnover but if you shoot it and get the rebound, you have another chance of scoring.
  • You are not allowed to hit someone or foul them very hard or else that can lead to a flagrant 1 or a flagrant 2 which causes you to get ejected from the game.
